Cady

We picked up Cady at Tacoma Humane Society in April of 2015. She quickly showed a sense of adventure an aptitude for finding a geocache and a fear of you touching her head and ears.

We treated those ears for a year with different medications drops and treatments with limited success. Thanks to Old Dog Haven she had surgery to removed those infected ear canals (that no longer worked anyway) after an amazingly short recovery Cady has bounced back with more energy and more excitement for life than ever.

Maker Madness

Sunday we went yet again up to the big city, this time to the Seattle Public Library for a Geocaching event celebrating the most clever and devious of Geocache hides.  We originally planned to save on parking and try the light rail from Tukwila, but when we discovered the day rate to park at the Library on a Sunday was $6 and the round trip fare on light rail for the two of us would be $11.00 We made the decision to save the time (Bob needed to get home and sleep for his shift that night.)  So we ended up early for a change. We had planned to have lunch but the business area is pretty closed up on a Sunday.  So we decided to go up the Columbia tower which is open every day from 10 to 8.  It was cheaper than the Space Needle and even had a senior price for those over age 55. The views were breathtaking! We looked DOWN on the Space Needle.  The mountains were not showing (like they would be today) but we still had a great view of the city below.

This was the first time I had been in the Seattle Public Library, it is pretty impressive too! We saw some great examples of some really tricky hides. Makes me want to get out and Geocache!

Movie Screenings and getting up early

We went to the Advance screening of the movie Cuban Fury which we laughed and laughed at!  We had terrible seats in the very first row I guess we didn't get in line soon enough but we did get in (unlike many behind us) and despite some crick in our necks we had the BEST seats for the question and answer they held with the star of the movie Nick Frost.  We were in the first row for the Q & A at the New Day taping, I bet he thought we were real fans. His birthday is March 28th just a day after Bob's.  Even his impromptu sessions were funny. We didn't plan to stay out this late though as the next morning we drove to the airport to deliver some folks off for some fun in Orlando!  We got them to the airport by 4:30!

Have FUN!! Holli and Kane.

Playing in Seattle

After the taping we went over to eat at Serious Biscuit which is next to Serious Pie both Tom Douglas restaurants in Seattle. We had a view of their production kitchen that bakes everything for all their places in the area. We found it very interesting.
We both had biscuits and gravy that were delicious but Bob put a CRAZY hot sauce on his.
We played tourists (sort of) taking the monorail, walking around, stopping in Gameworks, but we drew the line at $19 a person to go up the space needle, it wasn't that nice out.
For lunch we went straight for the cheescake,  At the Cheesecake Factory
Happy Birthday (this was his actual birth day)
We watched the fountain and the kids playing in it.

New Day Northwest

The KING family, statue in front of the KING TV studios in Seattle. We had a good time watching the taping of a local TV show New Day Northwest.
Bob on the set after.
A screen shot of us in the audience, front left great seats!
Me in front of the set after the taping. They had mostly interesting guests and each one came out and answered questions from the audience between sets.  We all received tickets to an advance screening that night and for an IMAX movie at the Science center. We were surprised and pleased.  We got to taste the bruschetta from the cooking segment.

Could it be Spring?

Such a beautiful day for a walk in the park. Pepper's tail wagged with every step! For just a short time it felt like Spring was really on the way.  We had a lovely day, started at the Emerald Queen Tatoosh restaurant. It is a nice place with china and cloth napkins but prices comparable to Denny's.  They don't charge for coffee or add sales tax so like last time we did this we wondered why we didn't go more often?
Bob worked a couple of extra shifts over the weekend so it was nice to have some time together.

Bob's birthday

Happy 55 honey!

We started celebrating with the "famous" grange pancake breakfast with enthusiastic company :)
